Sneed Global Forwarding processes personal data in the course of arranging freight. This statement explains which data, on what legal basis, for how long, and who else sees it.

Enquiries and quote requests. Your name, company, e-mail address, telephone number and whatever you tell us about the shipment. We need it to answer you, which is a pre-contractual step at your own request.

Shipments under contract. The names and addresses of consignors, consignees and contacts, plus the transport and customs documents that carry them. Some of this we process to perform the contract; the customs side we process because the law obliges us to.

Invoicing and accounts. Billing details and payment records, kept because tax law requires us to keep them.

Job applications. Whatever you send us: CV, covering letter, contact details.

Website use. Anonymised statistics about which pages are read, described in full in the cookie statement.

Forwarding does not work without passing details on. Depending on the shipment, your data may go to:

We do not sell personal data, and we do not pass it to anyone for their own marketing.

This is worth stating plainly, because it is not incidental to what we do. A shipment to a country outside the European Economic Area means the consignee’s details reach a party in that country: our agent there, the carrier, and that country’s customs authority. There is no way to arrange the transport without it.

Where the destination is not covered by a European adequacy decision, we rely on Article 49(1)(b) of the GDPR: the transfer is necessary to perform the contract you asked us to perform. Where we can put a data processing agreement or standard contractual clauses in place with a regular agent, we do.

Access is limited to the people who need it for the file in front of them. Traffic to this website is encrypted. Our systems are patched and backed up, and we require the same of the suppliers who host them.

No system is perfect. If something goes wrong that affects you, you will hear it from us, and where the law requires it, so will the Dutch Data Protection Authority.

You can ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, to correct it if it is wrong, to delete it, to limit what we do with it, or to hand it over in a portable form. You can object to processing we base on a legitimate interest. Where we asked for your consent, you can withdraw it at any time, and that does not make what we did beforehand unlawful.

Write to sales@sneedglobalforwarding.com and we will answer within a month. Records we are legally obliged to keep, customs and accounts above all, we cannot delete on request, and we will say so rather than quietly not doing it.

If you are not satisfied with how we handle it, you are entitled to complain to the Dutch Data Protection Authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.
